IRONTON — Two men arrested in connection with several car break-ins in the city made appearances Thursday in Ironton Municipal Court.

Joey Barker, 33, of 409 Lane St., Coal Grove, and Mark Fritz, 28, of 1707 S. Sixth St., Ironton, were arrested Tuesday by the Ironton Police Department.

Barker was charged with misdemeanor theft, misuse of credit cards and criminal damaging, as well as a felony charge of receiving stolen property. Attorney Roger Smith was appointed to represent him,

Fritz was charged with misdemeanor misuse of credit cards and receiving stolen property, as well as three felony charges of receiving stolen property. Attorney Gene Meadows was appointed.

Judge O. Clark Collins set bond for both men at $20,000 cash or surety and set pretrials for Aug. 22.

IPD Detective Joe Ross previsouly said the two men allegedly worked together on the smash and grab-style crimes at local businesses.

The break-ins occurred June 22 at the Knights of Columbus, July 5 at the Moose Lodge and Aug. 9 at Buffalo Wild Wings.

During the break-ins, credit cards, cameras, purses, thumb drives and other personal items were taken from the victims’ cars.
