Theft — 1300 block Township Road 179, Ironton, July 10, vehicle taken from residence.
Assault, impersonating a peace officer — County Road 107, Proctorville, July 14, woman alleged man driving a truck in front of her repeatedly slammed on his breaks to get her to rear end him; after woman pulled into her apartment complex, the man allegedly parked his truck and watched her unload her groceries; the woman reported she and a neighbor approached the man to ask what he wanted and he replied he was with the sheriff’s office; man allegedly peeled out of the drive and threw gravel on the women; suspect contacted and cited to court.
Domestic violence — Lawrence County Fairgrounds, July 12, witness allegedly saw a man puling aggressively on his grandson’s arm and tried to force the boy to ride a ride he didn’t want to; Jesse Mezzo, 27, of 160 Township Road 1088, Proctorville, arrested.
Domestic violence — 50 block Township Road 373, Ironton, June 22, woman alleged her husband tackled her and hit and choked her; Paul Burns, 22, of the same address, arrested.
Domestic violence — Private drive, Ironton, July 13, woman alleged her husband shoved her, grabbed her by the throat and allegedly threatened to beat her; man also allegedly threaten to cut himself and report to the police that she did it; man also allegedly threatened to take the woman’s 6-year-old daughter; Justin Sharp, 49, arrested.
Theft without consent — 11000 block County Road 1, Chesapeake, January-June 2013, owner of Liberty Air Technicians reported money missing from his business and suspected a couple who was running the company; owner alleged company credit card was used for things other than business expenses and said when he confronted the suspect, the suspect quit; owner reported finding the suspect’s work vehicle returned with a note admitting to the crime; bank accounts subpoenaed by sheriff’s office; deputy reported credit card was used for personal utilities, cell phone, pet supplies, a Harley Davidson and other items; deputy reported speaking with the suspect by phone on July 10, who now lives in Mainsville; suspected allegedly admitted to taking the money but is working to pay the money back; deputy advised suspect that charge would be filed; business owner reported getting checks from the suspect for $12,000 and $2,000; total amount allegedly taken was more than $29,000.
Possession of drugs and drug abuse instruments — County Road 278, South Point, July 12, during traffic stop, deputy reported driver shaky an unable to answer questions; after a search of the car and the driver, deputy allegedly found syringes, baggies and spoons with residue; passenger in the car allegedly had pills, a syringe and a pipe in her purse; Amanda Osbourne, 24, of 447 Township road 276N, South Point, and Patrick Brown, 22, of 4813 West Moreland Road, Huntington, W.Va., arrested.
