Ironton man arrested for B&E
IRONTON — Ironton police arrested a man they say broke into a downtown business on June 15.
James N. Helton, 22, of Ironton, was arrested Wednesday and charged with the breaking and entering of Family Creations on South Third Street, as well as tampering with evidence.
According to Det. Joe Ross, Helton allegedly broke into the business through a window and stole money and security cameras.
Helton was arraigned Friday in Ironton Municipal Court. Bond was set at $10,000.
Ironton resident makes dean’s list
WILMORE, Ky. — Maeghan Cartmill, of Ironton, made the dean’s list at Asbury University for the spring 2013 semester with a GPA of 3.81.
Cartmill has a double major in media communications and creative writing with a minor in theater cinema performance.
The 2011 Rose Hill Christian graduate is the daughter of Darrell and Teresa Cartmill of Ironton. She is the granddaughter Bill and Ruth Browning of Ironton and Jim Cartmill of Winchester, Ky.
