Plenty going on right here at home

Starting this weekend and running pretty much through the spring and summer, Lawrence County will be a busy and fun place to be.
It is easy for naysayers to sit back, refuse to get involved in anything and say that nothing good happens here.
That couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Starting this weekend which includes the Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament, the Lake Vesuvius Fishing Derby, the grand opening of the Lawrence County Horsemen’s Association horse arena and several other events are slated. Things continue on through the month with high school graduations and a variety of patriotic activities that culminate with the historic Ironton-Lawrence County Memorial Day Parade, the nation’s longest continually running Memorial Day parade.
Later this summer, Coal Grove’s Family Fun Days, the county fair and the 10th annual Rally on the River will heat things up.
Although some people will always see the glass as half empty, Lawrence Countians have many reasons to be excited. Lots of good things are happening.
By getting involved and actually helping make a difference, it can be a spring and summer to remember for all.
