Ohio University Southern alumni Brad Bear, special projects producer and marketing specialist for OUS, and Jeffrey Ford, owner of Millimeter Creative, Inc. in Cincinnati, will take over the Cincinnati’s Contemporary Arts Center with the premiere of their film “Where’s the Fair?” Saturday.
Bear said independent filmmaking is a funny animal, and the last four and half years have been a roller coaster of highs and lows.
“Independent filmmaking is a funny animal. The last four and a half years have brought several highs and lows. When you discover and chase a new lead or twist in the story, or when you venture across the globe to the largest event in human history, it’s thrilling,” Bear said. “The hardest part has been getting asked the question, ‘When are you going to finish that film?’ By Year Three, most people stopped asking, and there was the unspoken doubt cast over whether it would ever be finished.”
But it was finished, and Bear said being able to say that to the doubters will be one of the things he most looks forward to.
“Where’s the Fair?” was an official selection for the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival in Willington, N.C., which will take place in May. The film was nominated for best documentary and best feature overall.
“The hard work and hours spent is beginning to pay off.” Bear said.
A reception will follow the premiere where guests will be able to meet the film makers. Those seeking more information on the film can go to their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WheresTheFair.
