PEDRO — The Rock Hill Redwomen were putting things together.

The Redwomen put together good play in all phases of the game, and they parlayed seven hits with 11 walks and six hit batsmen to beat the Coal Grove Lady Hornets 18-3 on Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“We played well, we pitched well and we played well defensively. It was a good team effort,” said Rock Hill coach Mary Jane Harper.

Sami Nixon struck out nine and walked one in getting the win for Rock Hill (11-3, 7-1).

Kenzi Martin hit a two-run double in the first inning as Rock Hill took a 2-0 lead.

Jenna Lane — who went 2-2 at the plate — had an RBI single to highlight a five-run second inning.

Walks and an RBI single by Brooke Eastham keyed a five-run third inning and it was 12-3.

The Redwomen got six runs in the fourth inning as Emmalee Ellis had a three-run double, Eastham a two-run double and Sami Dillon an RBI double.
