Eloise Hayes, a Proctorville artist, explains the historical meaning of her painting, "The Paul F. Thomas Ferry," to her friend Mary Alice Cooper at Saturday’s Ironton Artists Association Fall Art Show. The painting depicts the ferry that once traveled from Proctorville to Huntington, W.Va. Both Mrs. Hayes and Mrs. Cooper said they remember taking the ferry when they were younger.
