Vikings roll past East, 64-38

WILLOW WOOD — The Symmes Valley Vikings got off to a good start and just kept going and going and going …
The Vikings went up 14 points in the first quarter and kept on scoring in a 64-38 rout of the Sciotoville East Tartans Saturday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.
“We got an early lead and just kept building on it,” said Vikings’ coach Jerome Fuller. “Our defense is doing a good job creating better shots. Our press gets us a lot of layups.”
Leading the offense was Kris Tibbs with 16 points. He also had 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Luke Taylor and Michael Ferris scored 12 points each.
Hunter Johnson contributed 7 points and 4 assists as the Vikings improved to 10-5overall and 8-3in the SOC.
Cory Haywood scored 14 points for East (4-11).
Tibbs had 8 points in the first quarter as the Vikings raced to a 19-5 lead.
Taylor had half his points in the second quarter and Symmes Valley extended its lead to 33-14 at the break.
After leading 46-26 after three quarters, Ferris came off the bench to score 9 points and the Vikings continued to pull away.
