For the fifth straight game, the Flyers used the equation and got the same results Tuesday as they routed the New Boston Tigers 74-50.

"We’ve won five in a row and in all five of those games we’ve got off to a good start. That’s been a big key for us," Flyers coach Kevin Sheridan said.

"We took good shots the first quarter, but then we didn’t do that the second and third quarters and it showed. But we picked it back up the fourth quarter because we were patient."

Matt Frazer finished with 23 points and eight rebounds while Eric Waginger had 17 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals as St. Joe improved to 7-4.

Bill Dressel had 15 points and Bub Waginger had eight rebounds, three assists, and six steals.

New Boston (6-5) was led by T. J. Caldwell’s 20 points. The Tigers were without leading scorer Chris McGraw who was out sick.

St. Joe bolted to a 21-4 lead and was up 25-15 behind 10 points by Frazer.

Eric Waginger and Frazer had 6 points each the second quarter and it was 42-28 at the half.

"We jumped out on them again and then let them back in it," said Sheridan. "Frazer was taking the ball to the basket strong. He came out playing well. He just took the ball to the basket and kept drawing fouls."

Eric Waginger and Frazer had 6 points each the second quarter as St. Joe opened up a 42-28 halftime lead.

The lead stayed at 14 after three quarters at 52-38.

Dressel dropped in 6 and Frazer 5 the fourth quarter.

Sheridan was concerned more with his team’s poor shooting. The Flyers were just 10-37 from the field over the second and third quarters.

But they came back to make 9-of-18 from the field the fourth quarter and coast to the win.

"We weren’t real patient until the fourth quarter and then we got back to what got us there," said Sheridan.

The Flyers play at Portsmouth Notre Dame Friday.
