JACKSON – The seeding is complete. Now let’s wait a week.

The boys Southeast district held its basketball tournament seedings Sunday with play to begin Monday, Feb. 21.

In the Division III sectional at the University of Rio Grande, Chesapeake (16-2) earned the top seed and will play at 8:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, against the winner of the Federal Hocking (8-8) and South Webster (6-11) game set for 6:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21.

In the second bracket, Ironton (6-10) was seeded 7th and plays Wellston (6-11) at 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21. The winner meets No. 2 Belpre (16-1) at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26.

The third bracket has No. 3 Wheelersburg (15-4) playing Crooksville (1-18) at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15. The second game is Nelsonville-York (5-13) and Minford (10-8). The winners meet at 3 p.m. Feb. 26.

In the fourth bracket, No. 13 Coal Grove (2-14) plays No. 4 Oak Hill (12-6) at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, followed at 8 p.m. by No. 5 Fairland (11-6) and River Valley (2-17). The two winners play at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25.

St. Joe and Symmes Valley will play in the Division IV sectional at Albany Alexander while Green heads to Lucasville Valley.

Seeded No. 3 despite the second-best record, St. Joe (13-5) plays Glouster Trimble (9-9) at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, in a rematch of last year’s sectional game won by Trimble.

The winner advances to the district at 8 p.m. March 6.

Symmes Valley (7-11) was the 7th seed and faces No. 2 Racine Southern (12-7) at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25. The winner goes to the district at 8 p.m. March 7.

Green (13-4) was top-seeded at Lucasville and plays at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, against the winner of the Portsmouth Notre Dame (5-13) and Latham Western (2-16) game scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22.

The bracket winner goes to the district at 6:15 p.m. on March 7.

South Point and Rock Hill will play in the Division II sectional at South Webster High School.

South Point (7-11) plays Athens (9-10) at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26. The winner advances to the district at 8 p.m. on March 3.

Rock Hill (7-11) goes against Vinton County (2-15) at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22. The winner faces No. 2 seeded Portsmouth (10-7) at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, with that winner going to the district at 8 p.m. March 2.

District tournament games will be held at Ohio University in Athens.
