Also making a difference was pitcher Brian Cremeans who fired a three-hitter, struck out 13, and walked four.

The Pointers (2-1) had 13 hits led by Patrick Panell who went 3-4. Jarred Perdue was 2-3 with a double and a triple, and Jamie Douglas was 2-4.

The Titans got two runs in the top of the first, and then South Point got a run back in the bottom of the inning when Shane Fuller walked, Josh Hunter singled, and Jared Waggoner laid down a perfect squeeze bunt.

The Pointers tied the game in the second when Douglas doubled, Cremeans walked, and a throwing error at third on an attempted steal by Douglas allowed the run to score.

Then came the big seven-run uprising.

With one out, Waggoner singled and an out later stole second. Panell singled home Waggoner and Dick Weaver homered to make it 5-2.

Douglas singled, stole second, Cremeans was safe on an error, and Perdue tripled to empty the bases. Fuller’s base hit scored Perdue, then Perdue stole second and scored when Josh Morrison was safe on an error.

South Point hosts Russell, Ky., at noon Saturday.
