The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers continued their winning ways Thursday and Friday as they beat South Webster and Raceland, Ky.

On Thursday, Ironton used the combined pitching efforts of Ashley McCloud and Katie Keller to edge the South Webster Lady Jeeps, 2-1. The Lady Fighting Tigers came back to blast the Raceland Lady Rams 12-0 Friday.

In the win over Raceland, the Lady Tigers had six hits but received eight walks and stole eight bases.

Nicole King was 2-3 with a double and a home run, Lona Hager went 1-3, Rachel McClellan 1-3, Whitney Medcalf 1-3, Alexis Reedy 1-3, and Cheryl Hill 1-3 for the Ironton hits.

McCloud turned in five shutout innings to get the win for Ironton, now 9-2. McCloud allowed just two hits, struck out eight, and did not walk a batter.

"All the girls played well. We had another double play, so the defense is looking good," Ironton coach Pete McCloud said.

On Thursday, Keller picked up the win as she and Ashley McCloud shared the pitching duties. The duo allowed just five hits.

"That was just one of those games where we left runners on second and third all night. Everything we hit was right at them. But South Webster had a good defense," said coach McCloud.

Carly Isaac and McClellan were 2-3, while Melissa Cielec, Jessica Ensor, and Maria Frazer were all 1-3 to pace the seven-hit Ironton attack.

Ironton plays at South Webster Tuesday.
