Travis "Gookie" Dawkins will play shortstop for the CIncinnati Reds while regular shortstop Barry Larkin is out 2-4 weeks with a thumb injury. Gookie will form an unusual nickname double play combination with second baseman Calvin "Pokey" Reese.
