Students in South Point Elementary’s afterschool program sipped tea and munched on cakes, all the while learning proper ettiquette during a tea party hosted at Traditional Creations in Ashland, Ky., this week.
The young classmates dressed up, then attended the "proper" tea party to learn about table manners, dress and deportment, they said.
They are members of the American Girls’ Club, a program at South Point Elementary’s After School Mall.
The girls in the American Girls’ Club are reading "Felicity," a book in the American Girls series.
In the book, Felicity is a young girl who lives in colonial Williamsburg and attends tea parties and other social functions.
The tea party at Traditional Creations helped the girls understand a bit more about what Felicity’s life might have been like.
