Gas stations throughout the region, such as the Bi-Lo station on Third Street in Ironton, were packed Tuesday evening as droves of motorists filled their vehicles up in anticipation of a major gas-price hike on Wednesday. The Bi-Lo station, like many others, ran out of regular unleaded gasoline at about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Regulators and industry officials said supplies are fine and there is no danger of a shortage.
