Farmers Market offers bounty of local goods

This summer has been a very productive season for our local farmers. Excellent weather conditions have yielded an impressive bounty of fresh locally grown produce.
Our farmers market just keeps getting better, making downtown Ironton the place to be on Saturday.
Buy local, eat local and eat healthier.
Grapes, pears, peaches, apples, watermelon and honey melon, are in season. Tomatoes, green beans, peppers and corn are still available.
In addition, Judy Balmer also offers an impressive selection of homemade relishes, sauces, honey, etc.
As you know, the farmers market is open until October, so don’t forget about the “cold weather” crops such as broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, spinach, pumpkins, Indian corn and gourds. Perennial flower divisions will also be available soon.
Our market is composed of many vendors selling different and unique items. Drive, take a bike ride or enjoy a pleasant walk to the market to see what it available this time of year.
The farmers market is in the Municipal Lot, located on Second Street in Ironton, Ohio.
Please feel free to contact Judy Balmer at (740) 643-2196 if you have any questions.
Community support for our vendors is essential and will enrich your diet with quality locally grown food.
