Kitts Hill man charged with assault

A Kitts Hill man was arrested Monday evening after a scuffle with a Lawrence County Sheriff's deputy.
Paul Butler, 64, of 1116 Kitts Hill High School Rd., was charged with disorderly conduct and assault.
Deputy Darren Hamlin was called to the Butler home to investigate a domestic dispute between Butler and his wife, Rhonda.
According to a sheriff’s office report, Butler allegedly became aggressive and belligerent, and refused to cease and desist when Hamlin asked him repeatedly to calm down.
The scuffle ensued when Hamlin attempted to handcuff Butler. Hamlin was punched once in the chest and once in the face. He suffered a busted lip as a result.
Also Monday Joshua Keaton, of Coal Grove told authorities a set of four wheeler ramps were stolen from his pickup truck while it was parked at the cement plant on Hog Run road. There are no suspects in this incident.Kent Sanborn/The Ironton Tribune
