March 5, 1928-May 29, 2002Gracie Waddell, 74, of Ironton died Wednesday at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Lloyd County, Ky., native was born March 5, 1928, the daughter of the late James and Mintie Powers Bowling. She was the wife of the late Alva Waddell. She was a homemaker and a Christian. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Minnie Alice Hamilton; two sisters, Virgie Stamper and Sophia Sprouce; and two brothers, Estel Bowling and Richard Bowling. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Edward and Pam Bowling of Ironton and Rickey Lee Robinson of Marion; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty Spence of Marion, Bonnie and Bud McCormack of Ironton and Georgia Ann and Dean Mack of Urbana; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Pauline Robinson of Franklin Furnace and Evelyn Dillahunt of Dayton. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
