People looking for a good job in the Lawrence County area may get some help, thanks to the Workforce Development Resource Center’s fourth annual Job Fair at Ohio University Southern.

The fair will be hosted in the rotunda of the Riffe Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.

"The overall goal of the WDRC is to match job-seekers with employers," Eva Christian, WDRC job developer, said. "It is very rare that you get this many quality employers together at one time."

Some of the companies that will be represented include Vandyke, Inc., Duke Energy, Big Sandy Furniture, Heiner’s Bakery, Amazon.com, and the Lawrence County Community Action Organization’s Head Start program.

Job-seekers should come prepared with resumes and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews, Christian said.

"You always want the first impression to be a positive one when talking to employers," she said. "I think this is one of the best opportunities for job seekers in the Tri-State to meet with potential employers."

At previous fairs, more than 400 people came out to talk with 40 to 45 different employers. This year a larger turnout is expected because the reputation of the fair has grown, Christian said.

"We have hundreds of people come through this building," she said. "Employers can see that we have qualified employees out there."

Christian said many of the companies have participated in the past and have been successful. WDRC hopes to compile stats this year that would
