The Rock Hill School District officially said goodbye to two employees Friday night.
The board officially accepted the resignation of Assistant Superintendent Sam Hall, effective July 31. Hall recently accepted the position of superintendent of the Chesapeake School District.
"This upsets me," said board member Wanda Jenkins. "I hope we don't have any more leaving. After 28 years, I can't blame him, I wish him all the luck in the world."
The board also accepted the resignation of custodian Jim Stamper, a 22-year employee who is leaving due to disability. The board left open the possibility that Stamper could return within five years if his health improves.
"I wish you the best," board member Carl Large told Stamper, who attended the special board meeting.
Jenkins agreed.
"I'm going to miss seeing your smiling face when I walk in the building," she said.
In other matters, the board also approved temporary annual appropriations for fiscal year 2003 in the amount of $25,590,056.83.
