Parole has been recommended for a woman convicted in the death of an Ironton man.
Dorothy Bryan of Rush, Ky. has served two years of a five-year sentence for reckless homicide in the death of Albert Tomondi.
According to Ashland police, Bryan was driving the wrong way on a one-way street while intoxicated when her car collided with Tomondi’s. Tomondi was critically injured and died at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. three days later. The accident occurred in November 1999.
Bryan pleaded guilty May 30, 2000 and has been serving her sentence in the Boone County Jail in Kentucky where, at the present time, she is still incarcerated.
Upon parole, Bryan will not be allowed to drive a motor vehicle, will pay $100 at the rate of $10 per month to the Crime Victims’ Compensation Fund, and seek substance abuse evaluation, said Lisa Carnahan, a spokeswoman for the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
Also, Bryan must have a job and home placement before she is released from jail, said Pamela Trautner, a spokeswoman from the Kentucky Justice Cabinet.
She will be on parole until November 25, 2004, Carnahan added. Amelia Pridemore/The Ironton Tribune
