PROCTORVILLE -- State Route 7 in Proctorville will be closed intermittently during one day next week while work crews continue work on Phase 1A of the Chesapeake Bypass.
According to ODOT District 9 Deputy Director John Hagen, State Route 7 is scheduled to be closed at its junction with County Road 403 (Irene Road) for intermittent periods from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
The road closing will allow contractors to begin a signal installation project.
Traffic will be maintained by law enforcement officials as needed. Motorists, however, are advised of delays which may occur for periods of up to 10 minutes.
During Phase 1A of the bypass project,
State Route 607 will be extended from the 31st Street/East Huntington Bridge and a two-lane highway will be built connecting it to Irene Road and State Route 775.
The project also includes the construction of a bridge over Little Paddy Creek on Irene Road and the installation of lighting, storm sewers, culverts and traffic control devices along the route.
