Chesapeake man nabbed for seventh DUI offense

Frederick J. Topping, 34, of Chesapeake, was
charged Tuesday with driving under the influence, his seventh lifetime offense and his fourth offense within the last six years.
This came as a result of an traffic accident investigation. Troopers said Topping was traveling on Hog Back Road when he drove off the pavement and struck a ditch. When approached at the scene, Topping allegedly fled into nearby woods.
Troopers subdued Topping by using newly acquired Taser devices. He was also charged with resisting arrest, driving under suspension and failure to control.
