CHESHIRE -- Being young and on the road wasn't a good combination for the Chesapeake Lady Panthers.

After two big Ohio Valley Conference wins last week, the Lady Panthers struggled Monday as they lost 53-30 to the River Valley Lady Raiders.

The Chesapeake Lady Panthers are now 5-9 overall and 4-1 in the OVC, one-half game ahead of South Point and Rock Hill.

"We let everyone back in the race tonight," Panthers coach Chad Belville said.

The Lady Panthers did not score in double figures in any quarter. They trailed 24-13 at the half and 38-21 after the third quarter.

"We played with no emotion. Mentally we just weren't ready to play. We just don't play with any consistency, and that's a sign of our youth," Belville said. "That was as bad as we've played defensively in my three seasons here."

Candace Dickerson and Brittany Boyle had 7 points each to lead the Panthers.

Nicole Lykins poured in 26 points to lead River Valley, 5-7 and 2-2. Leslie Ward added 11 points.
