Shadyside beats Lady Jeeps, 39-30; Huntington Ross tops Lynchburg

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (AP) -- Tristin Miracle scored 12 points to lead Shadyside to a return trip to the Division IV state semifinals by beating South Webster 37-30 on Saturday.

The Tigers (23-3) held South Webster (24-1) to 9-of-36 shooting and won the regional final against a previously undefeated team for the second year in a row.

Shadyside never trailed after the first basket and led 15-8 at halftime and 24-19 after three quarters. The Tigers shot 12-for-30 and outrebounded the Lady Jeeps 26-17.

Associated Press Eastern All-District player of the year Jenna Johnson added nine points and seven rebounds and Whitney Brown had eight points.

Brooke Hughes led the Lady Jeeps with 14 points.

Chillicothe Hunt. 41, Lynchburg-Clay 39, OT

LANCASTER, Ohio (AP) -- Nicole Depugh scored 15 points and made the game-winning basket as Chillicothe Huntington beat Lynchburg-Clay 41-39 in overtime Saturday to advance to the Division III state semifinals.

With time running out in overtime, Tiffany Carroll missed a shot, got her own rebound and passed to Depugh, who scored as the buzzer sounded.

The Lady Huntsmen (21-5) will be playing in the state basketball tournament for the first time. The boys team has not been to the state tournament.

Whitney Lewis led the Lady Mustangs (22-3) with 14 points. Crystal McCloskey scored 14 points and had 17 rebounds for Huntington.

Cin. N. College Hill 58, Georgetown 41

VANDALIA, Ohio (AP) -- Michele Miller scored 20 points as Cincinnati North College Hill beat Georgetown 58-41 Saturday to advance to the Division III state semifinals.

LaTosha Johnson added 14 for the Trojans (20-4), who jumped to an 8-0 lead and were never threatened. The G-Men (22-4) pulled to 28-20 in the third quarter, but North College Hill responded with a 10-2 run to take a 38-22 lead starting the fourth quarter.

Katie Schneider led Georgetown with 16 points.

Bucyrus Wynford 62, Worthington Christian 61

LEXINGTON, Ohio (AP) -- Danielle Grochowalski hit two foul shots with seven seconds left as Bucyrus Wynford rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit to beat Worthington Christian 62-61 in a Division III regional final on Saturday.

It is the first time that Wynford has advanced to the state semifinals.

Grochowalski was fouled going for a rebound. Her second foul shot put Wynford (26-0) ahead for the first time in the game.

Markee Armentrout led Worthington (24-2) with 21 points and missed a 3-pointer at the end of the game.

Amber Rall led Wynford with 25 points.

S. Euclid Regina 59, Youngs. Ursuline 41

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio (AP) -- Simone Redd scored 25 points and South Euclid Regina raced to a 13-0 lead and went on to beat Youngstown Ursuline 59-41 in a Division III regional final on Saturday.

The Fighting Irish missed their 13 shots. They cut the lead to 17-13 before the Royals (22-2) went on another 13-point run to take a 30-13 lead at the half.

Stacey Little scored 15 for the three-time defending state champions, who advance to the state semifinals.

Courtney Davidson led Ursuline (22-3) with 15 points and Tyra Grant added 13.
