Ironton City Council to discuss riverfront development
Published 9:59 am Thursday, July 12, 2012
When it meets at 6 p.m. today, Ironton City Council will discuss a proposed agreement with KRZ Design to provide engineering services for the riverfront development project.
The work would be paid for through an Ohio Department of Natural Resources Natureworks grant.
The city is in the process of turning a roughly six-acre tract of land between the Ohio River and the flood wall into a park, complete with walking and biking trails, picnic areas and perhaps even retail shops. The contract is scheduled for first reading.
Council also may give second reading to a contract for landfill services and discuss a resolution to appoint Mayor Rich Blankenship to a Ohio District 15 Public Works Integrating Committee. The appointment is for a three-year term.
Council meets at 6 p.m. on the third floor of the Ironton City Center.
