As long as Mother Nature cooperates, The Ironton High School Singers will provide the entertainment but the community must bring their own dinner.

The group will host the "Supper at Susnet" at 7 p.m. Thursday in front of Ironton High School. The outdoor concert will provide the audience the opportunity to bring lawn charis, blankets and food if they want to have a makeshift picnic with live music.

"We want everyone to come enjoy a nice spring evening and some good music," said Kathryn Price, music instructor at IHS. "This gives people time to get off work, change into some comfy clothes, throw some sandwiches together and come relax."

The IHS Singers is a performance group of 17 singers who are also accompanied by guitars, saxophones and more in their performances of music from all genres. Style includes spiritual, country, pop, rock, traditional, patriotic, broadway, doo-wop and more.

"We have put together a repertoire so that we can sing for anyone," she said. "We try to touch on all types of music."

Ironton senior Andrew Cronacher said this will be a little different than most performances because they will not be on stage and will be able to see into the audience.

"It is going to be a different atmosphere," he said. "It makes it 10 times more personal."

Cronacher said he thinks that anyone who comes will be treated to a top-notch professional performance.

Senior Sara Harper said she is excited, but also a little nervous, in part because this is her first year with the group.

"We have really been preparing all year," she said. "After the musical (in March), we have gotten all the songs together."

Harper said she enjoys some of the songs the seniors lead on such as "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" by Green Day.

"This is a great opportunity to come out and have a nice relaxing evening and enjoy some great music," Price said. "I know people say there is not enough to do in Ironton, but that is not necessarily true. They can come share with the kids, support the kids and bring the family."
