Family enriched by adoptions

Two little girls will have their lives changed forever because of the love of an Ironton couple who is sure to get back as much as they give because of the decision to adopt.
Jay and Bekki Zornes have grown their family after the couple recently completed their second adoption of a child from China. It has been a grueling process taking years, but the Zornes family has returned home with their second baby girl, Julia, joining Lilly, who is now 7 years old.
The Zornes family is like so many other American families who, for one reason or another, decide to open their homes and their hearts to adopt a child who has been orphaned.
This is a monumental decision that, clearly, is life altering for all involved. It takes special individuals willing to put themselves through the process, the paperwork, the financial changes and the entire ordeal to make a child’s life better and also to enrich their own lives.
We applaud all families who decide to adopt or serve as foster parents. Jay and Bekki Zornes, and those like them who adopt children here in the United States or internationally, are perfect examples of what we want to showcase with the weekly “Good News, Good Neighbors.”
Adoption may not be for everyone. And, of course, you occasionally hear horror stories where the process has gone horribly wrong.
But, as with most things in life, the real story is in the details and specifics of each situation.
For Jay and Bekki Zornes, the two most important reasons to adopt came home with them and will forever call them “Mom” and “Dad.”
