A Chesapeake man who was arrested earlier this year in connection with break-ins at two local churches, the Chesapeake Community Center and a Chesapeake area residence will spend four years in prison for those crimes.

Jon K. Wilson, 43, of 764 Old State Route 7, pleaded guilty earlier this month to three counts of breaking and entering, one count of vandalism and one count of burglary.

Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton sentenced Wilson to one year in prison on each count of breaking and entering and the one count of vandalism and four years in prison for the burglary. The sentences were ordered to be served concurrently.

Additionally, Wilson was ordered to pay court costs and $1,800 restitution to the victim whose home he admitted to burglarizing. He was given credit for the 138 days in jail he has served since his arrest.

Wilson was arrested April 23 and charged with breaking into Defender Methodist Church in Chesapeake and the Chesapeake Community Center. He was later charged with a breaking into Union Missionary Baptist Church and a residence in that area.
