CIRCLEVILLE - This one was decided early.
The Ohio University Southern Lady Trailblazers jumped out to a 55-11 first half lead and cruised to an 85-31 rout of the Washington Bible College Thursday.
It was the first win of the season for OUS after opening with losses to the Rio Grande junior varsity and the University of Miami-Hamilton. Blazers coach Trisha Damron said the losses actually helped.
"We played excellent. We picked up our defense and communicated with each other. Our first two games were against some good teams and they prepared us for this game," Damron said.
Brittany Black had 27 points and Jordan Edwards had 21 points to lead the Lady Trailblazers. Amanda Bailey scored 14 points , Cat Cirner added 10 and Karen Ellis scored 9 points. Kristin McClellan pulled down nine rebounds.
Ohio Southern plays at Circleville Bible at 2 p.m. Saturday.
