SUMMIT, Ky. - The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers must have gone to the "Lost & Found" at halftime.

Ironton found a couple of missing elements of their game in the second half as the Lady Tigers beat the Lexington Dunbar Lady Bulldogs 52-47 Monday at the Kentucky Fried Chicken/Pepsi Colonel Classic.

"We didn't rebound the first half and we didn't play very aggressive on defense," Ironton coach Amy Hughes said. "We did a better job on the boards the second half, and late in the game we played defense with some intensity."

Dunbar outrebounded Ironton 18-14 the first half, but Ironton controlled the boards 21-10 the second half.

The board work was done predominantly by Sara Hacker and Sarah Cartmell. Hacker had nine of her 12 rebounds in the second half while Cartmell finished with eight rebounds.

Hacker led all scorers with 22 points. Andrea Rudmann scored 12 points despite being saddled with foul trouble. Mandi Boykin had six assists and three steals.

Briana Green had 15 points and Dominique Rowe 11 rebounds for Dunbar (1-5).

The win puts Ironton (7-1) into the semifinals against Ashland, Ky., at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

"Dunbar had a lot of talent, but they're a young team like us," Hughes said. "Ashland is a very good, veteran team.

The lead changed hands eight times in the first quarter before Rudmann hit an 18-footer and a layup to give Ironton a 13-10 lead.

Two foul shots by Ranthony Clark put Dunbar up 14-13 before the Lady Tigers went on an 11-0 run to lead 24-14 with 4:17 to go in the half. Hacker's 3-pointer at the 3:12 mark gave Ironton its biggest lead of the half at 27-14.

The Lady Bulldogs closed the gap to 29-21 at the half.

Dunbar kept chipping away in the third quarter and tied the score at 36-36 on a baseline jumper by Erika Lamanna at the 2:03 mark. Boykin's foul shot with 23 seconds showing put Ironton ahead 39-38.

The lead went back-and-forth five times until Cartmell sank two foul shots with 2:28 to play and it was 47-46. Hacker's steal turned into a free throw, and Boykin's steal led to a free throw by Ciara Taylor

with 31 seconds left to make it 49-46.

Danielle Henderson sank two foul shots with 16 seconds to play that gave Ironton a 51-46 lead, and Boykin's steal with five seconds left seal the win.
