CHESAPEAKE - Talk about a log jam.
The records in the Chesapeake round robin wrestling tournament might not suggest the parity, but Panthers coach Phil Davis said the competition was tight.
"The kids did a good job. The tournament was really competitive," Panthers coach Phil Davis said. "Every single match was a good match. Everyone was close."
River Valley was 5-0 to win the tournament. George Washington was 4-1 to place second followed by Chesapeake in third place at 2-3, Fairland was 2-3 to finish fourth, Hurricane (W.Va.) was fourth at 1-4, and Spring Valley (W.Va.) was sixth at 0-5.
The Panthers lost to George Washington by one point.
