An Ironton man is scheduled to stand trial Monday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court on charges stemming from a raid on an alleged crack house last summer.
Jerome M. McGhee, 24, of 1505 Lawrence Street, Apt. D-7, was indicted in November on two counts of trafficking in cocaine and possession of criminal tools, all felonies, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of drugs, all misdemeanors. Because McGhee is a convicted felon, he was also charged with having a weapon under a disability.
McGhee was arrested by the Lawrence County Drug Task Force in October after neighbors complained about drug activity in their neighborhood.
A person arrested along with McGhee, Deanna Michelle Lewis Saxton, 29, also of 1505 Lawrence St., Apt. D-7, pleaded guilty late last year to permitting drug abuse at her residence, fifth-degree felony possession of drugs and a misdemeanor count of possession of drugs.
Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton ordered Lewis to successfully undergo drug rehabilitation at the Rural Women’s Recovery Program and then sentenced her to four years community controlled sanctions under intensive supervised probation.
