A July 12 trial date has been set for a Hamilton Township man accused in connection with a November 2003 double shooting.

Daniel J. Blankenship, 59, of 1398 Old U.S. 52, Ironton, was arrested in the evening hours of Nov. 10 after a shooting incident near his residence. A 43-year-old woman and her 17-year-old son were injured.

He was indicted the following month on two counts of felonious assault and one count of attempt to commit felonious assault. Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton will preside over the trial.
