Police arrest alleged pizza store robber

An Ironton man was arrested late last week and charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the March 10 holdup of the Ironton Papa John's.

He now faces other charges in connection with a second incident.

412 S. Ninth St., was arraigned Monday in Ironton Municipal Court on charges of

aggravated robbery in connection with the Papa John's holdup. He was also arraigned on one count of

felonious assault, two counts of intimidation of a witness and drug abuse in connection with the second incident.

Ironton Police detective Jim Carey said Smith allegedly went to an Ironton residence and threatened the occupant with a shotgun.

This incident happened in early March as well. After the victim spoke with police officers, Smith allegedly contacted the man and threatened him again.

Smith remains in jail under a $40,000

bond.
