Rebekkah has Returned.

After missing last season following two knee surgeries, Rebekkah Potter made her return felt with 4.2 strong innings of relief work as the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers beat the Chesapeake Lady Panthers 19-9 on Monday.

Potter struck out seven, walked just one and allowed two runs for her second win in as many games. She also went 1-3 at the plate.

“Potter had a nice game on the mound tonight,” said Ironton coach Missy Fields. “It’s great to have her back this season after her back-to-back knee surgeries. We hope she stays healthy this season.”

Ironton (2-0) struggled defensively in the first inning as Chesapeake took a 5-0 lead. But the Lady Tigers rebounded with 12 runs over the next three innings.

“After an error-laden first inning we seemed to come around defensively. I was proud of the girls for battling back in the game,” said Fields. “Everyone is starting to put the bat on the ball. We just have to start hitting the holes.”

Karlee McMackin went 3-3 to lead the offense. Lakin White was 2-4, Andi Kratzenberg was 2-5with a double and Emily Davis was 1-4.

Jordan Porter was 34, Anna Mayo 2-4 with two doubles and Caitlin Heffner 2-3 to lead a 12-hit attack for Chesapeake (0-2)
