HARTS, W.Va. - The Green Bobcats did as much in a half as some teams did in a whole game on Friday.

Green was forced to get all its work done in the first half in a 34-8 rout of the Harts Lions.

The game was called at halftime when someone cut down a tree that fell and cut off electricity and forced the game to be called due to darknees.

But the Bobcats did plenty of damage in the abbreviated time by racking up 219 total yards.

Andy Avery ran 16 times for 110 yards and C.J. Blevins had 52 yards on nine rushes. Blevins also had an interception.

Green coach Kevin Sheridan praised his team effort, especially seniors Kyle Bailey, Luke Grabeman, C.J. Blevins and Travis Klaiber.

"We still competed and that was encouraging. It's the last game and there's nothing on the line. The seniors cared about the program and they did a real good job adapting to the changes."

Green, 3-7, took control in the first quarter with 26 points.

Avery ran 5 yards for a touchdown to make it 6-0. Blevins returned a punt 72 yards for a score as the lead went to 12-0.

Blevins had a 14-yard scoring run that extended the lead to 18-0.

Derek Lewis came up with an interception near midfield and Green took advantage as Lewis hit John Bowen on a 49-yard pass play.

Avery got his second touchdown on a 2-yard run and James McGuire ran for the conversion to make it 34-0.

Harts finally scored when Rhett Dingus fell on a fumble with about a minute to play in the half.
