Panthers lead All-OVC selections

It took a little longer to pass out the All-Ohio Valley Conference football team plaques to the Chesapeake Panthers.

Winning a third straight title, the Panthers landed five first team picks and two more on the honorable mention list to lead the all-league selections.

Bryan Eldred, Dustin O'Brien, Caleb McComas, Mark Roby and Matt Whitmore were first team selections. Jackson Caynor and Shane Williams were voted to the honorable mention list.

Phil Davis was named Coach of the Year for guiding the Panthers to the title.

Runner-up Coal Grove placed Patrick Roush, Jim Lemon, Nick Bazell and Justin Hyland on the first team. Bryan Massie and Colton Hitchcock were honorable mention.

Rock Hill, Fairland, South Point and River Valley all had three on the first team and two honorable mention.

Rock Hill had K.C. Christian, Justin Lavender and Matt McFann on the first team while T.J. Blagg and Brian Skaggs were honorable mention.

Tommy Hayner, Chris Smith and Jeremiah Taylor were the South Point first team picks. Justin Thacker and John Crager were honorable mention.

On the first team for Fairland were Michael Hill, Sam Huff and Brad Malone. Adam Fuller and Cameron Clark were honorable mention.
