FRANKLIN FURNACE - A scoring trio gave the Green Bobcats a trio of wins.

Adam Sparks, Brian Ramey and Derek Lewis combined for 48 points as the Green Bobcats ran their record to 3-0 with a 66-58 win over the Fairland Dragons Tuesday.

Sparks led the Bobcats with a game-high 20 points. Ramey and Lewis finished with 14 points each.

"We've been playing good defense, we've just been wondering where our offense was going to come from this year. So far, we've had guys step up and answer that question. Tonight, it was Sparks, Ramey and Lewis," Green coach Kevin Sheridan said.

Daniel Spears scored 18 points and Todd Maynard had 11 to lead the Dragons, 0-2. Josh Johnson added five rebounds and five assists.

"Green has some nice guards who know how to play, and they have some quick kids. They have a nice team," Fairland coach Chad Belville said.

"But after the first quarter we started to grow up a little bit. We're making progress. I was proud of our effort."

Green went ahead 5-0 to start the game, and then Ramey had 7 points and Sparks 6 as the lead grew to 27-17 at the end of the quarter. Maynard had 9 points and Spears 8 more in the quarter to keep the Panthers close.

Fairland, down 32-17 early in the second quarter, rallied over the final six minutes of the half to tie the game at 34-34.

Lewis hit a 3-pointer to break the deadlock but Zach Pemberton and Daniel Spears scored 4 points each to tie the game 46-46 heading into the fourth quarter.

But in the fourth quarter, Lewis converted 6 of 8 from the line and scored 8 points as Green pulled away to the win.

"Derek hit some clutch shots for us," Sheridan said.

Fairland is at River Valley Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game. Green visits Raceland, Ky. Saturday.
