Boxing benefit to aid

local cancer victim

COAL GROVE — East Coast Promotions will present a professional boxing show on Saturday, March 24, at the El Hasa Shrine Temple in Ashland, Ky., and Coal Grove’s Chris Brammer wlll donate all his proceeds to Abby Hamilton’s fight against cancer.

Tickets are on sale at Coal Grove Giovanni’s Pizza or from Brammer through his facebook page or by calling (740) 534-2109.

General admission is $20 and $25 the day of the show. VIP tables — a section of six seats — are $250. Drinks are included with the VIP table package.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the fights begin at 8 p.m.

 

 

Ironton Little League

camp set March 24

The Ironton Little League will conduct a camp for boys and girls from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Youths should bring a glove, bat and wear long pants.

Fee is $20. Campers receive a T-shirt and pizza will be provided for lunch. The concession stand will be available.

Entry forms are available at the Ironton city schools and Bob Linn Sport.

The camp will be conducted by the Ironton High School baseball and softball team members, former collegiate players, experienced coaches and ILL board of directors.

The camp will focus on hitting, bunting, infield, outfield, base running, sliding, position play and attitude.

 

 

GCHS baseball plans

fundraiser March 17

The Greenup County High School baseball team will conduct a wiffle ball home run derby and corn hole tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 17, in the school gym.

Proceeds benefit the Musketeers’ baseball team.

Wiffle ball is $10 each (3-man team) and corn hole $10 each (2-man team).

Prizes are $100 for winner of corn hole and t-shirts and name on plaque in concession stand for wiffle ball.
