Lady Bobcats tighten up in win over Western

It was skin tight.
After giving up 32 points in the first half, the Green Lady Bobcats tightened their defense in the second half and beat the Western Pike Indians 55-38 Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.
"Our defense tightened up the second half," Green coach Melissa Knapp said. "We just got off to a slow start and Western shot the ball pretty well the first half. We picked it up the second half."
Leigh Ann Williams scored 8 points in the first quarter as Green went up 17-13.
Western outscored Green 19-9 in the third quarter and took a 32-26 lead.
But Williams got 7 more points in the third quarter and the game was tied 39-39.
Elista Hall raced up 7 points in the fourth quarter as Green pulled away to the win.
Williams led all scorers with 18 points. Hall had 16 points for Green, 5-2 overall and 4-2 in the SOC.
