FRANKLIN FURNACE - It wasn't what the Green Lady Bobcats could do, it was what they couldn't do.

Green was able to come up with key plays and pressure baskets, but it was the inability to make free throws that led to a 55-45 overtime loss Wednesday to the Fairview (Ky.) Lady Eagles.

"Offensively, we could not execute. That was a major problem for us," Green coach Melissa Knapp said.

Elista Hall hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime, then hit another 3-pointer at the end of the first overtime to force a second extra period.

But Fairview, which made 13 free throws in the two overtimes, sank eight foul shots in the second overtime with Brandi Mills making all six attempts.

Green made only two foul shots in the overtimes and missed the front end of five one-and-ones.

"They made their free throws and we didn't. That was the difference," Knapp said.

Holly Adkins and Carrisa Evans scored 5 points each in the first quarter as Fairview took a 15-9 lead.

Hall and Kortney Pfleger had 4 points each in the second quarter as Green got within 23-21 at the half.

The Lady Bobcats took a 31-27 lead after three quarters as Hall and Pfleger combined for 8 points, but Fairview rallied in the fourth quarter to take the lead before Hall tied the game.

Each team scored 7 points in the first overtime and it was 48-48.

Hall finished with 20 points to lead Green (5-4). Boyd had 18 points, Evans 15 and Blevins 11 to pace Fairview.
