SOUTH POINT - The numbers were bad. So were the results.

The Fairland Lady Dragons didn't take care of the ball nor did they shoot well as they lost 60-42 to the Northwest Lady Mohawks in the South Point Holiday Tournament semifinals.

"You can't expect to win if you turn the ball over 27 times, shoot 28 percent from the field and 45 percent at the foul line," Fairland coach Nathan Speed said.

Katie Jordan scored 16 points to lead four Northwest players in double figures. Kristen Bradshaw had 12, Heather Ellis 11 and Carrie Sanders 10.

Brianna Davis had 11 points while Kara Riley had 8 points and 10 rebounds for Fairland (3-6).

Bradshaw had 9 points in the first quarter as Northwest went in front 22-15. Riley had 5 points to keep Fairland close.

Brittany Hackworth had all 5 of her points in the second quarter as Northwest extended its lead to 37-23 at the half.

Both teams scored 14 points in the third quarter to make it 51-37.

The Lady Mohawks added to their lead in the fourth quarter by outscoring Fairland 9-5. Davis had 4 of Fairland's points.

Fairland plays Portsmouth at 6 p.m. Thursday in the consolation game.
