The South Point Lady Pointers gave a solid performance from start to finish as they beat the Fairland Dragons

76-58 Thursday in an

Ohio Valley Conference game.

"We played steady all the way through. It's always good to win on the road and in the conference," Lady Pointers coach Dave Adams said. "We played pretty well. They pressed quite a bit and we still only had 14 turnovers."

Alisha Bridges had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Pointers, 11-2 and 4-0. Jessi Craft had 22 points and five assists while Sarah Lee added 16 points. Latisha Koukas had 11 rebounds and seven assists.

Brianna Davis led Fairland (5-9, 3-2) with 20 points and eight rebounds. Shay Berry added 13 points and Kara Riley 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Bridges had 6 points in the first quarter and Lee 4 as South Point took a 16-13 lead.

Craft scored 9 and Bridges 5 as the Lady Pointers pulled away to a 38-30 halftime lead. Davis had 6 points and Megan Auxier hit a 3-pointer to keep Fairland close.

After Fairland made it 44-41 in the third quarter, Bridges had 6 points and five different players scored as South Point went on a 9-0 run to lead 55-44.

"We hung tough for a while and then they just outran us," Fairland coach Nathan Speed said.

In the fourth quarter, Craft was 4 of 4 and Bridges 4 of 6 from the foul line to put the game out of reach.
