Two people are in custody, charged in connection with four reports of vandalism Monday night.

Timothy McComas, 20, of 330 1/2 Walnut Street and a 17-year-old male juvenile are both charged with vandalism. McComas was taken to the Lawrence County Jail. The juvenile was taken to a local group home.

Ironton police received phone calls from three residents who said someone fired shots at their house and broke or damaged a window. One caller said his house was vandalized twice; the second time he provided information about the type of car seen in the area at the time of the incident.

"Several windows were busted out," Ironton police detective Jim Akers said. "It wasn't a gun, though, it was a slingshot with little silver balls."

The houses that were victimized were in the 900 block of S. Sixth Street,

the 2000 block of S. Ninth Street and the 2100 block of S. 11th Street. All of the incidents were reported between 10 and 11 p.m.

McComas, the juvenile and a female who was also in the car were located in the vicinity of Sixth and Railroad streets. The

female was not charged.

Ironton police were assisted in the investigation by the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.
