IRONTON — A special Event for Abbey Hamilton will be held on Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Ironton City Building. This event will raise funds, to financially support Abbey’s ongoing battle with cervical cancer.

The event will feature a rummage/bake sale and fantastic raffles, such as a Kindle Fire! Everyone is encouraged to come out and have a great time for a great cause! This event will be indoors, so rain or shine come out and support our friend and neighbor.

This event will be hosted by the IHS graduating class of 2002. Ironton residents Sarah Smith and Micah Conaway will be organizing and running the event.

Abbey is 28 years old. She graduated from Ironton High School in 2002. In September Abbey was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She received treatments until around Christmas at which time they told her they were complete. On Feb. 3 she was told the cancer had spread.

If anyone would like to donate gently used items to the sale, they can be dropped off at the City Building on Friday after 6 p.m., or by contacting Sarah Smith at 740-479-2049.

Cash donations can also be made at the PNC Bank of Coal Grove, under Abbey Bentley Hamilton. Out of town donors can make donations by calling the bank at (740)532-0321.
