COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Raymond Felton made the tiebreaking layup with 19 seconds left and Sean May blocked a shot just before the buzzer as No. 2 North Carolina weathered a furious comeback bid by Maryland before escaping with an 85-83 victory Sunday.

May had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Tar Heels, who remained alone atop the Atlantic Coast Conference with their fifth straight win.

Jawad Williams scored 21 points to help the Tar Heels (24-3, 12-2) beat the Terrapins on the road for the first time since 2001.

The Tar Heels led 76-68 with 5 minutes left. A tip-in by Maryland's Ekene Ibekwe tied it at 83 with 41 seconds remaining.

After a timeout, Felton drove the left side of the lane and delivered his only basket of the second half. Mike Jones had a chance to tie it for Maryland, but his last-second shot was swatted away by May.

Chris McCray scored a career-high 25 points for the Terrapins (16-10, 7-8), who rallied from a 10-point deficit to tie it.

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Wayne Simien had a career-high 32 points and Aaron Miles hit a running layup for the go-ahead basket with 37 seconds to go for the Jayhawks, who took over first place in the Big 12.

Kansas (21-4, 11-3) shot 66 percent from the field while ending a three-game losing streak. Oklahoma State (20-5, 10-4) shot 59 percent in losing its second straight.

Simien had 12 rebounds and was 10-of-11 from the foul line, breaking the school record with 34 consecutive free throws.

John Lucas, one of four senior starters for Oklahoma State, hit his first nine shots but he missed a long 3-point attempt seconds before the final buzzer.

No. 6 Wake Forest 90, Virginia 68

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Justin Gray scored 20 points and Chris Paul and Eric Williams each had 17 for the Demon Deacons (24-4, 11-3), who improved to 15-0 at home this season and remained one game behind North Carolina in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Devin Smith scored 22 points for Virginia (13-12, 4-10), while J.R. Reynolds and T.J. Bannister each had 15.

Indiana 78, No. 10 Michigan St. 74, OT

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Bracey Wright scored 32 points and D.J. White added 17, including the tying basket in the closing seconds of regulation and the go-ahead basket in overtime, to lead Indiana.

White scored with 17 seconds left, sending the game into overtime at 64-all. Paul Davis put Michigan State ahead for the last time at 66-64, but he fouled out shortly after and the Hoosiers (14-11, 9-5 Big Ten) ran off eight straight points to clinch the victory.

Roderick Wilmont hit one free throw, White had two more baskets and Wright put the game out of reach with a 3-pointer with 42 seconds left. The Hoosiers scored their last six points on free throws over the final 26 seconds and took a 78-72 lead before Chris Hill scored at the buzzer for Michigan State (20-5, 11-3), which had won six straight.

No. 20 Wisconsin 64, Ohio St. 56

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Alando Tucker scored 19 points and Mike Wilkinson added 14 for the Badgers (18-7, 9-5), who remained tied for third place in the Big Ten with Indiana.

Terence Dials had 20 points to lead Ohio State (18-10, 7-7), which lost its second straight game after winning six of seven. After going 7-of-9 from the field and scoring 16 points in the first half, Dials made his first shot of the second half and then never got another one over the final 18 1/2 minutes.

The Badgers were 6-of-7 on 3s in the opening half while building a 37-27 lead. They finished 8-of-15 from behind the arc.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Allan Ray scored 18 points and Will Sheridan had a season-high 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Villanova.

Kyle Lowry added 12 points and seven assists for the Wildcats (19-6, 9-5 Big East), who held Georgetown without a field goal for 7 1/2 minutes in the second half.

Brandon Bowman had 22 points for the Hoyas (16-9, 8-6), who have lost three straight.
