Ironton tournament

tickets now on sale

Tickets for the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers and Fighting Tigers’ boys’ sectional tournament games are on sale for $5 in the high school auto shop.

Girls’ tickets are on sale until noon Thursday. Boys tickets will be on sale through Friday, Feb. 24.

Ironton only receives 25 percent of the advance tickets sales. Fans are encouraged to buy in advance.

The Lady Tigers play Nelsonville-York at 8 p.m. at Jackson High School on Thursday.

The boys play at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, at Jackson High School against the winner of the Oak Hill vs. Portsmouth West game.

 

 

 

Flyers’ boys, girls tourney

tickets now on sale

Tickets for the St. Joseph Female Flyers’ and Flyers’ boys Division IV sectional tournament games are on sale in the high school principal’s office.

Tickets are $5 and the school receives 25 percent of the presale.

Boys’ tickets are also on sale for their game at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, at Meigs High School against South Gallia.

The Female Flyers play Manchester at 8 p.m. on Wedesday, Feb. 15, at Northwest High School.

Also, the boys’ game at Rose Hill, Ky., on Friday will start at 7:30 p.m. There will be no jayvee game. The Rose Hill girls’ have a game at 6 p.m.

 

 

SV softball team hosts

annual rummage sale

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings softball team will host their sixth annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 3, in the high school gym.

Anyone who would like to make a donation may drop off the items at the school from 4-to-8 p.m. on Friday, March 2. If an item needs to be picked up, contact coach Odie Estep at (740) 643-2371 (school) or 643-2021 (home).

 

 

FLL baseball, softball

registrations announced

The Fairland Little League will conduct baseball and softball registrations for ages 4-16 at The Clubhouse.

Registration will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23.

Tryouts will be held Saturday, March 17. Rainout date on March 18.

Tryouts will be at 11 a.m. for ages 9-10 and 12:30 p.m. for ages 11-12.

Registration fee is $25 for players selling candy and $50 for players not selling candy.

New players need a birth certificate and three proofs of residence.

Opening Day is April 14. A parade and cookout are planned.
