Cora Roach

Cora Roach, 86, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at her residence.

The Ironton native was born May 31, 1925, the daughter of the late Hershel and Gertrude Anson Pancake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Roach, whom she married June 29, 1946.

Mrs. Roach was a graduate of Kitts Hill High School and was beautician. She was a member of Sugar Creek Missionary Baptist Church for 77 years, the Eastern Star Lodge, The Stars, and was the worthy matron three different times. She was also a former member of the Rock Hill Garden Club, Hitchin’ and Pitchin’ Campers Club and worked the election polls for 50 years.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Hershel Pancake Jr. and Jack Pancake.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Glenna “Susie” and Bill Jenkins of Ironton; a son, Paul L. Roach of Ironton; four granddaughters, Kenna and Scott Gifford of Cattletsburg, Ky., Melanie and Ben Mullins of Ironton, Melissa Koerper of Ironton and Tricia and Chris Thompson of Ironton; a grandson, Brent Roach of Ironton and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sugar Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Long officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday. Eastern Star rites will be conducted at the funeral service on Tuesday. Randolph Yates

RACELAND, Ky. — Randolph “Randy” Yates, 91, of Raceland,, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Community Hospice Care Center. He was the husband of Emma Williams Yates, who survives. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Pastor Kevin Witt and Rev. Hyden Curnutte officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, and one hour before the funeral Wednesday at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by American Legion Kenova Post 93. WURTLAND, Ky. — Fannie Daniels Lemaster Hatfield, 86, of Wurtland, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Community Hospice Care Center. Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods is in charge of arrangements, which are pending.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Adam Lee Maynard, 35, of Charleston, formerly of Chesapeake, Ohio, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville.
