Lloyd Payne
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Lloyd Clinton Payne, 80, of Huntington, formerly of Willow Wood, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at the Hospice of Huntington center. The Willow Wood native was born March 21, 1931, the son of the late Archie and Florence Payne.
Mr. Payne was a former employee of the Carlyle Tile Co. and retired in 1990 after working 23 years for the Ohio Department of Transportation. Mr. Payne loved being outdoors and working in his garden. He was a member and deacon of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church in Wilgus and for the past six years has attended the Trinity Chapel Church in Huntington.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Holderby; three grandsons, Daniel “Tyler” Payne, Logan and Lucas Payne; and a granddaughter, Lauryn Payne.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Holbrook Payne whom he married June 23, 1954; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Tammy Payne of Kitts Hill; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Rena Payne of Chesapeake; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Mark Hale of Huntington, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Payne of Willow Wood; and a sister, Barbara Deering of Hebron.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Comer and Pastor Greg Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Wilgus Fairview Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by VFW Post #8850. Friends may call Monday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers for the service will be Alan Wheeler, Ryan Carpenter, David Pratt, Matthew Hale, Roger Colegrove and Roger Pierce. Ralph Emerson Patrick, 77, of Ironton, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was the husband of Mary Sue Meeks Patrick, who survives. Arrangements are pending at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.

ASHLAND, Ky. — Sharon Lynn Brown, 61, of Ashland, formerly of Wurtland, Ky., died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Community Hospice Care Center.
